Ancient Ruins of Rauh

The overgrown ruins of Rauh Base, reached through the Specimen Storehouse. Romina, Saint of the Bud and the Church of the Bud are here.

Bosses

  • Rugalea the Great Red Bear: Roams the far north-west of Rauh Base near the Ravine North grace. Use Fire and stay beside it, away from its claws and lunges.
  • Red Bear: Guards the Northern Nameless Mausoleum; use the Spiritspring south of the Temple Town Ruins grace to reach its plateau. He fights like a wild beast with claws, so roll through and use Lightning.
  • Death Knight: Boss of the Scorpion River Catacombs in Rauh Base. Like the first Death Knight, use Holy damage and dodge the lightning follow-ups after each axe swing.
  • Divine Beast Dancing Lion: A second lion waits in a temple east of the Church of the Bud, Main Entrance grace, reached by a lift down. It uses the same stances as the Belurat fight but hits harder.
  • Romina, Saint of the Bud: Waits inside the Church of the Bud; Dryleaf Dane can be summoned. Her attacks spread Scarlet Rot, so bring cures, stay at her side and use Fire.

  • Salza's Hood (Shadow of the Erdtree): Cross the long bridge from the West Rampart grace, riding Torrent through the fire rain; the Fire Knight posted at the far end drops it.
  • Crucible Hammer-Helm (Shadow of the Erdtree): Defeat Devonia, Crucible Knight, in the ruins west of the Viaduct Minor Tower; take the Spiritspring down and follow the path under the bridges.
  • Braided Cord Robe (Shadow of the Erdtree): Taken from Hornsent when he dies: help Leda kill him in the Shadow Keep, or, if you sided with him, beat his invasion by the Church of the Bud or in the Enir-Ilim battle.
  • Gravebird's Blackquill Armor (Shadow of the Erdtree): North of the Temple Town Ruins grace: hug the left cliff uphill past the Gravebirds to a statue-lined spot holding the armor.
  • Gloried Attire (Shadow of the Erdtree): On top of a large rock in the middle of the bear forest north-west of the Ravine North grace, where Rugalea the Great Red Bear lives.
  • Iron Rivet Armor (Shadow of the Erdtree): Beat the Red Bear inside the Northern Nameless Mausoleum, reached by a Spiritspring jump near the Temple Town Ruins grace.

  • Remembrance of the Saint of the Bud (Shadow of the Erdtree): Dropped by Romina, Saint of the Bud at the Church of the Bud in Rauh. Trade it to Finger Reader Enia in Roundtable Hold for the Poleblade of the Bud or Rotten Butterflies.

  • Greater Potentate's Cookbook [8] (Shadow of the Erdtree): Rauh Base: follow the river west from the Ravine North grace; it sits on top of the big dung mound near the flooded cemetery, across from the Scorpion River Catacombs.

  • Knight's Lightning Spear (Shadow of the Erdtree): In the Scorpion River Catacombs, edge along the narrow wall ledge in the hall of deathblight eyes; it lies in the room beyond.
  • Divine Bird Feathers (Shadow of the Erdtree): Take the lift into the western Rauh ruins; it lies in the pool in front of a stone gazebo.
  • Divine Beast Tornado (Shadow of the Erdtree): Reward for the Divine Beast Dancing Lion fought near the Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
  • Roar of Rugalea (Shadow of the Erdtree): Drop from Rugalea the Great Red Bear in the woods north-west of the Ravine North grace, Rauh Base.
  • Pest-Thread Spears (Shadow of the Erdtree): Behind a staircase in the cave passage near the Church of the Bud, Main Entrance grace in Rauh; a single enemy guards it.
  • Spider Scorpion Ashes (Shadow of the Erdtree): From the Viaduct Minor Tower grace, drop to the lower ground to the south and search the ruins to the north-west.
  • Black Knight Captain Huw (Shadow of the Erdtree): In the Scorpion River Catacombs, cross the hall of crushing spikes; it rests on an altar on the far side.
  • Divine Bird Warrior Ornis (Shadow of the Erdtree): North-east of the Temple Town Ruins grace, take the spiritspring onto the ruined wall and pass through a small cave.
  • Taylew the Golem Smith (Shadow of the Erdtree): Activate the pipe in Taylew's Ruined Forge to open the way, then take it from the altar at the forge's far end.
  • Cerulean Amber Medallion +3 (Shadow of the Erdtree): Awarded for killing the Death Knight at the far end of Scorpion River Catacombs.
  • Mottled Necklace +2 (Shadow of the Erdtree): Rauh Ancient Ruins, West: ride the lift, head north through the woods to a Spiritspring, bounce over to the islet with L-shaped stairs and open the chest.
  • Two-Handed Sword Talisman (Shadow of the Erdtree): Temple Town Ruins: enter through the broken wall and climb to the highest building on the north side for the chest.
  • Pearl Shield Talisman (Shadow of the Erdtree): Chest at a small Messmer soldier camp in the woods just northwest of the Ancient Ruins Base grace.
  • Fine Crucible Feather Talisman (Shadow of the Erdtree): West of the Viaduct Minor Tower grace, go through the ruins, use the Spiritspring and climb uphill to a huge root where it lies.
  • Talisman of All Crucibles (Shadow of the Erdtree): Rauh Ancient Ruins, West: ride the lift, follow the narrow stone ledges southeast and crawl through a vent in the wall to a chest.
  • Scadutree Fragment (Shadow of the Erdtree): Temple Town Ruins in Rauh Base: squeeze in through the broken wall, climb to the red-cloth canopy and drop to the middle bridge, where a corpse holds it.
  • Scadutree Fragment (Shadow of the Erdtree): Beside Miquella's Cross at the Rauh Ancient Ruins, East grace.
  • Scadutree Fragment (Shadow of the Erdtree): In the underground ruins by the Rauh Ancient Ruins, East grace, a pot-carrying Shadow waits just past the Spider-Scorpions. Kill it before it vanishes.
  • Scadutree Fragment (Shadow of the Erdtree): Dropped by the Lesser Golden Hippopotamus in the lake south-south-west of the Viaduct Minor Tower grace.

  • Revered Spirit Ash (Shadow of the Erdtree): Dropped by a pot-carrying Shadow in the first ruins just west of the Viaduct Minor Tower grace.
  • Revered Spirit Ash (Shadow of the Erdtree): On the statue inside the big gazebo north of the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West grace, guarded by two Horned Warriors.
  • Revered Spirit Ash (Shadow of the Erdtree): North of the Rauh West gazebo, take the side stairs down, drop from the ledge and ride the lift past the ceiling scorpions; a pot-carrying Shadow at the top drops it.
  • Crimson-Sapping Cracked Tear (Shadow of the Erdtree): Dropped by the Furnace Golem north of the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West grace.
  • Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone (Shadow of the Erdtree): In Taylew's Ruined Forge, on a balcony next to the central platform in the room with two Smithing Golems.
  • Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone (Shadow of the Erdtree): Use the furnace at the end of Taylew's Ruined Forge; it also yields the Taylew the Golem Smith spirit ash.
  • Larval Tear (Shadow of the Erdtree): Night only: on the cliff above the Fog Rift Catacombs, south-west of the Ancient Ruins Base grace, inside a ring of glowing gravestones.
  • Larval Tear (Shadow of the Erdtree): Night only: inside the ring of glowing gravestones north-west of the Ravine North grace in Rauh Base.
  • Sword of Light (Shadow of the Erdtree): Not a separate pickup: take the Stone-Sheathed Sword to one of the two remaining sword altars to turn it into this form; the altars switch forms back and forth.
  • Forked-Tongue Hatchet (Shadow of the Erdtree): Imps with this hatchet drop it around 2%; in the Scorpion River Catacombs, turn left twice past the big-mouthed Imp room and one drops from the ceiling.
  • Smithscript Axe (Shadow of the Erdtree): In Taylew's Ruined Forge, cross the first bridge, drop down, leap the gap, then go left to a corpse holding it.
  • Death Knight's Longhaft Axe (Shadow of the Erdtree): Earned from the Death Knight at the end of Scorpion River Catacombs.
  • Smithscript Greathammer (Shadow of the Erdtree): In Taylew's Ruined Forge, after the gap jump go right, hop along the pipe to the opposite balcony and look behind the corner.
  • Devonia's Hammer (Shadow of the Erdtree): West of the Viaduct Minor Tower grace, go through the ruins, ride the spiritspring jump down and follow the path under several bridges to Crucible Knight Devonia; beat her for it.
  • Bloodfiend's Sacred Spear (Shadow of the Erdtree): Pick it up from the pond north of the Ancient Ruins Base grace.
  • Golem Fist (Shadow of the Erdtree): Golems armed with it drop it about 4% of the time; the stone-throwing Golems at Taylew's Ruined Forge are the ones to farm.
  • Red Bear's Claw (Shadow of the Erdtree): Activate the spiritspring near the Temple Town Ruins grace, ride it up to the Northern Nameless Mausoleum and defeat the Red Bear there.
  • Spiraltree Seal (Shadow of the Erdtree): Reward for solving the Sacred Tower painting; its spot is on a cliff a short way south of the Red Bear's plateau in Rauh Base.
  • Smithscript Shield (Shadow of the Erdtree): In Taylew's Ruined Forge, go left down the ladder, jump the gap and climb the pipe, then take the left balcony and fallen pillar to where a Golem stands over the shield.

Walkthrough: Ancient Ruins of Rauh: Road to the Church of the Bud

  • From the West Rampart grace, ride west across the long bridge, entering through the archway on its right side.
  • At the far end, climb the spiral stairs and ride the lift up to the Viaduct Minor Tower grace.
  • Just inside the first ruins west of the grace, kill the glowing Shadowpot for a Revered Spirit Ash.
  • Head west into the underground tunnels and find your way out the far side to the Rauh Ancient Ruins, East grace.
  • Pick up the Scadutree Fragment at the Miquella's Cross by the grace.
  • Read the Ancient Ruins Cross Message lying near the cross.
  • Optional: a short way north-east of the grace, near a waterfall, lies the Ash of War: Dryleaf Whirlwind.
  • Cross the bridge west, then turn south to the Rauh Ancient Ruins, West grace.
  • Climb the stairs of the ruined building beside the grace and collect the Scadutree Fragment up there.
  • Optional: leave that building by its north side to a large gazebo where a statue guarded by two Horned Warriors holds a Revered Spirit Ash.
  • Head west toward the rot-filled church, but first climb the slope north-east of it and break the stone pile to open a shortcut.
  • If you summoned Hornsent against Messmer, he invades near the church entrance; defeat him for the Hornsent Set, Falx and Soiled Loincloth.
  • Light the Church of the Bud, Main Entrance grace before stepping into the church.
  • With Dryleaf Dane's sign called in, take on Romina, Saint of the Bud and claim the Remembrance of the Saint of the Bud.
  • Touch the Church of the Bud grace inside the arena.
  • Before burning the Sealing Tree, finish what's left for Leda, Hornsent, Freyja, Moore, Ansbach, Thiollier, Dryleaf Dane and St. Trina; several threads end there.
