Stormveil Castle

The first legacy dungeon: a maze of ramparts, gates and courtyards ruled by Godrick the Grafted, who holds the first Great Rune.

  • Godrick the Grafted: Lord of Stormveil, waiting beyond the Secluded Cell grace; Nepheli can join if you spoke to her in the castle. Stay close behind his axe swings, and in the second half watch for fire from his grafted dragon arm.

  • Commoner's Headband (Altered): Drop-only: Commoners who wear it in Stormveil Castle or Redmane Castle leave it behind; the plain headband cannot be altered into it.
  • Ash-of-War Scarab: Ignore the waygate on the Limgrave Tower Bridge and walk on to the bridge's broken end, where a corpse holds it.
  • Crimson Hood: Appears in Stormveil Castle where the Chrysalids' Memento lay, once Roderika has become the Roundtable Hold's spirit tuner.
  • Exile Hood: Stormveil's exile soldiers and castle guards drop it; the courtyard near the Liftside Chamber grace has several.
  • Banished Knight Helm (Altered): Drop-only: in Stormveil, the Banished Knight in a gleaming helm out on the stone path beyond Rogier's chapel carries it.
  • Commoner's Simple Garb: On a corpse on the gatehouse balcony right beside the Gateside Chamber grace in Stormveil Castle.
  • Commoner's Simple Garb (Altered): Variant made by altering Commoner's Simple Garb (picked up by the Gateside Chamber grace) from the Site of Grace menu after resting.
  • Commoner's Garb: Random drop from Commoner enemies; Stormveil Castle and Redmane Castle (outside the festival) are full of them.
  • Commoner's Garb (Altered): Use Alter Garments at a Site of Grace on Commoner's Garb; the base piece is a Commoner drop.
  • Bandit Garb: Bandit class starting gear; Gatekeeper Gostoc sells it at Stormveil, and the Twin Maiden Husks stock it once you hand over Gostoc's Bell Bearing.
  • Exile Armor: Stormveil's exile soldiers and castle guards drop it; the courtyard near the Liftside Chamber grace has several.
  • Banished Knight Armor (Altered): Drop-only from Banished Knights in polished armor, such as the one in Stormveil's room of hanging limbs or the patrol at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion.
  • Bandit Manchettes: Bandit class starting gear sold by Gatekeeper Gostoc, then by the Twin Maiden Husks after you give them Gostoc's Bell Bearing; also part of the Raptor's look.
  • Exile Gauntlets: Stormveil's exile soldiers and castle guards drop it; the courtyard near the Liftside Chamber grace has several.
  • Banished Knight Gauntlets: Any Banished Knight can drop it; Stormveil Castle has several.
  • Commoner's Shoes: Random drop from Commoner enemies; Stormveil Castle and Redmane Castle (outside the festival) are full of them.
  • Bandit Boots: Bandit class starting gear sold by Gatekeeper Gostoc, then by the Twin Maiden Husks after you give them Gostoc's Bell Bearing; also part of the Raptor's look.
  • Exile Greaves: Stormveil's exile soldiers and castle guards drop it; the courtyard near the Liftside Chamber grace has several.
  • Banished Knight Greaves: Any Banished Knight can drop it; Stormveil Castle has several.
  • Ash of War: Storm Assault: Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab deep under Stormveil; drop from the ledge near the Rampart Tower grace to the very bottom.
  • Ash of War: Stormcaller: Kill the Teardrop Scarab on the path just before the Secluded Cell grace and it gives you this.
  • Rusty Key: Stormveil Castle: in a dark room guarded by a Banished Knight, not far from the Stormveil Cliffside grace.
  • Godskin Prayerbook: Stormveil Castle: below the grassy courtyard near the Rampart Tower grace, a stairway leads to an imp-sealed room; spend a Stonesword Key to open it.
  • Chrysalids' Memento: Stormveil Castle: drop beside the hanging giant corpse past the Grafted Scion room and take it from the pile of bodies.
  • Godrick's Great Rune: Godrick the Grafted drops it at the end of Stormveil Castle; restore it at the summit of the Divine Tower of Limgrave.
  • Remembrance of the Grafted: Dropped by Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle. Trade it to Finger Reader Enia in Roundtable Hold for the Axe of Godrick or the Grafted Dragon.
  • Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [10]: Stormveil Castle: leave the Rampart Tower grace by the north door, hop onto the rooftop to the east and follow it over a bridge to a corpse.
  • Gostoc's Bell Bearing: Gatekeeper Gostoc never turns hostile; kill him in Stormveil Castle near the Godrick grace to take it.
  • Prophecy Painting: Hangs in a study off the heavily guarded courtyard near Stormveil's Liftside Chamber grace. Solve it on the cliff edge due north of the Church of Pilgrimage on the Weeping Peninsula.
  • Mimic's Veil: Stormveil Castle: climb the steps above the Grafted Scion room; a Banished Knight stands guard over the chest.
  • Cracked Pot: Stormveil Castle: on the stretch between the Liftside Chamber and Secluded Cell graces where Living Pots wait (first of two).
  • Cracked Pot: Stormveil Castle: the second pot on that Living Pot stretch toward the Secluded Cell.
  • Rancorcall: Kill the Teardrop Scarab in the rat-filled crypt below the courtyard near Stormveil's Liftside Chamber grace.
  • Aspects of the Crucible: Horns: From Stormveil's Rampart Tower grace, drop down the ledges on the left to a Crucible Knight; beat him for it.
  • Dozing Cross-Legged: On a corpse on the rooftops near Stormveil's Rampart Tower grace.
  • Prince of Death's Pustule: At the bottom of the crypt under Stormveil, where an Ulcerated Tree Spirit lurks; drop in from the courtyard near the Liftside Chamber.
  • Curved Sword Talisman: Chest in the dark room where Gostoc seals you in with a Banished Knight, close to the Stormveil Cliffside grace.
  • Claw Talisman: From the Rampart Tower grace drop onto a roof to the right, climb via the pillar to a ladder and loot the body in the watchtower.
  • Golden Seed: By a glowing sapling on the wide path south-east of the Secluded Cell grace, not far from where Nepheli Loux first appears.
  • Golden Seed: In a hidden cellar under the castle: take the painful drop outside the Liftside Chamber grace (or the secret route above the Living Jar room) and kill the Ulcerated Tree Spirit below.
  • Iron Whetblade: Use a Stonesword Key on the imp statue at the north-west door of the hall where a Grafted Scion lurks, near the Rampart Tower grace; the whetblade lies on a corpse in the armory beyond.
  • Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone: Nepheli Loux gives it in Godrick's throne room once Kenneth Haight's quest ends with her as ruler. Lost if she is given Seluvis's Potion.
  • Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone: Bought from Gatekeeper Gostoc for 20,000 runes in Godrick's throne room after Nepheli takes the throne; he has to be alive.
  • Misericorde: On a corpse in the big armory beside the Grafted Scion's hall in Stormveil; use a Stonesword Key on the imp statue to lift the fog, or drop in from the roofs near Rampart Tower.
  • Warhawk's Talon: The Warhawks perched around Stormveil Cliffside drop it at about 2%.
  • Omen Cleaver: Omens wielding it drop it about 4% of the time; one stands right outside the Liftside Chamber grace in Stormveil.
  • Highland Axe: In the Grafted Scion's dining hall in Stormveil Castle, right under the biggest painting.
  • Crescent Moon Axe: Exile Soldiers wielding it drop it about 4% of the time; farm those in the Stormveil armory next to the Grafted Scion's room.
  • Brick Hammer: Open the Rusty Key door in Stormveil's cellar, climb the ladder, jump to the right and follow the outer scaffolding down into a round tower room with a corpse holding it.
  • Golem's Halberd: One of the three Golems on the Limgrave Tower Bridge west of Stormveil carries it and drops it about 8% of the time.
  • Pike: On a corpse in the soldier-filled courtyard below the Liftside Chamber grace in Stormveil.
  • Torchpole: Exile Soldiers holding it drop it about 2% of the time; farm the courtyard before the Liftside Chamber grace.
  • Caestus: Gatekeeper Gostoc sells it at Stormveil's main gate for 800 runes.
  • Hookclaws: Up the stairs from Stormveil Cliffside, enter the castle and check the corner of the dark side room.
  • Arbalest: From the Rampart Tower area, climb the ladders along the ramparts past the Banished Knights, drop from the wooden bridge and follow the east wall over the battlements to a corpse beside a ballista soldier.
  • Godslayer's Seal: Drop off the roofs below the Rampart Tower grace into a cellar passage and open the imp statue door there (Stonesword Key).
  • Buckler: Gatekeeper Gostoc sells it at Stormveil's main gate for 1,500 runes.
  • Hawk Crest Wooden Shield: In the Stormveil armory: ride the lift down from Rampart Tower, then turn left twice through the Grafted Scion's room.
  • Marred Wooden Shield: Step outside the Rampart Tower among the Warhawks and drop off the left balcony onto the ledges; the shield comes into view below.
  • Marred Leather Shield: Climb the staircase beside the Stormveil Cliffside grace; a corpse on the way up holds it.
  • Wooden Greatshield: In Stormveil's main courtyard below the Liftside Chamber, climb the stairs of the leftmost shack to the balcony where it lies.
  • Manor Towershield: From the Secluded Cell grace, edge along the copper ledges to the south windows, climb the stairs and pass through the stairwell full of commoners; the shield is in that room.

Walkthrough: Stormveil Castle: Gostoc and the Cliffside Path

  • Leave Margit's arena and climb the slope toward the castle walls to light the Stormveil Main Gate grace.
  • Gatekeeper Gostoc waits in the building beside the gate; agree to his advice the first time he speaks.
  • Speak with him again, turn the advice down this time, and walk to the gate so he opens it.
  • Ignore the open gate and take the side path Gostoc first suggested to light the Stormveil Cliffside grace.
  • Head up the stairs into the building at their top, walk through its second doorway, then turn around.
  • Walk back toward the Stormveil Cliffside grace without resting; Gostoc now lurks on the ledge above it, so talk to him.
  • Return to Gostoc beside the main gate, where his shop is now open.
  • Go back up the steps and press on to the Rampart Tower grace.
  • Reach the chapel below, either through the north-west door past the birds and down onto the church roof, or by jumping from a balcony on the right.
  • Follow the path north-west into the chapel and speak with Sorcerer Rogier until he repeats; he also sells Ashes of War.
  • Head south-east into the building overlooking a Grafted Scion, circle to the right and drop beneath the hanging giant's corpse to pick up the Chrysalids' Memento.
  • Leave by the nearby door, enter the doorway on your left and ride the lift up to open a shortcut to Rampart Tower.

Walkthrough: Stormveil Castle: Liftside Chamber to Godrick

  • From Rampart Tower, ride the lift back down and slip past the Grafted Scion to the doorway on the far left.
  • Outside, turn left and follow the wall north past the enemies; a doorway on your left holds the Prophecy Painting.
  • Back outside, turn left and climb the stairs to the Liftside Chamber grace.
  • Pull the lever, ride the lift up, and collect the two Cracked Pots beside the Living Jars along the path.
  • Follow the path to its end and light the Secluded Cell grace.
  • South-east of the grace, harvest the Golden Seed from the golden sapling.
  • Find Nepheli Loux in the nearby building and talk to her until she repeats.
  • Back at Secluded Cell, use Nepheli's summon sign by the boss fog.
  • Defeat Godrick the Grafted for Godrick's Great Rune and the Remembrance of the Grafted.
  • Light the Godrick the Grafted grace in the arena.
  • Gostoc has wandered into the arena; talk to him until he loops.
  • Pass through the throne room and look beneath it, near a spectral figure, for a Shabriri Grape; Hyetta will want it in Liurnia.

Walkthrough: Stormveil Castle: Rogier's Hidden Path

  • Ride the Liftside Chamber lift up again, but stay high this time and cross the wooden bridge onto the stone ledge.
  • Edge right along the wall and leap across to the balcony to find the hidden path.
  • Follow the hidden path to Rogier's message; the door just past it opens a shortcut back to Liftside Chamber.
  • Descend into the castle depths, either by continuing down this path or by leaving Liftside Chamber through the south door, turning right and dropping from ledge to ledge.
  • Beyond the rats at the bottom, kill the Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirit; it drops a Golden Seed and must die before you can go on.
  • Pick up the Prince of Death's Pustule talisman past the tree spirit.
  • Touch Rogier's bloodstain beside it to watch what befell him.

Walkthrough: Stormveil Castle: Nepheli Takes the Throne

  • Rest at the Godrick the Grafted grace, then speak with Nepheli Loux in the throne room; she gives you an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
  • Speak with Kenneth Haight, who now stands beside the new ruler.
  • Talk to Gatekeeper Gostoc; his shop gains new stock, including an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
