Volcano Manor

Lady Tanith's manor of Recusants. Take on its assassination contracts, then descend to the Temple of Eiglay and Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.

Bosses

  • Abductor Virgins: Two iron maidens in the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber below Volcano Manor. Kill one fast while keeping away from the grab of the other.
  • Godskin Noble: Guards the Temple of Eiglay deep in Volcano Manor. Stay out of its belly-slam range and punish when it rolls; it opens the way to Rykard.
  • Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy: Waits past the Audience Pathway grace below the Temple of Eiglay. Pick up the Serpent-Hunter spear in the arena; its charged attack shreds the serpent and Rykard.

  • Commoner's Headband: Lies on a corpse atop a serpent statue's head over the lava lake beyond the Temple of Eiglay; ride the lift up and enter the manor through a window. It cannot be altered.
  • Black Dumpling: Albinaurics wearing it inside Volcano Manor drop it; a room full of them lies through the left shortcut door north of the Volcano Manor grace.
  • Consort's Mask: Finish the Volcano Manor requests and beat Rykard; Tanith then waits in his arena. Kill her, defeat Tanith's Knight, reload and loot her body.
  • Crimson Tear Scarab: Beyond the Temple of Eiglay: ride the north lift up, walk the ledge past the Man-Serpent and hop over the right railing onto a rock.
  • Albinauric Mask: In a room with an Omenkiller near the Guest Hall grace: climb the stairs and ladder to the roof, cross it and drop to a balcony.
  • Consort's Robe: Finish the Volcano Manor requests and beat Rykard; Tanith then waits in his arena. Kill her, defeat Tanith's Knight, reload and loot her body.
  • Eye Surcoat: Appears on the ground in Rykard's arena after the fight; reload the area if you don't see it.
  • Consort's Trousers: Comes with Tanith's outfit in Rykard's arena after the Volcano Manor story, or buy it early from the Hermit Merchant's Shack for 1,500 runes.
  • Ash of War: Royal Knight's Resolve: Volcano Manor: past the Temple of Eiglay, open the Imp Seal Gate off the staircase hall, climb down the hanging cages and search the body below.
  • Ash of War: Eruption: Buy it from Knight Bernahl for 8,000 runes after he relocates to Volcano Manor.
  • Ash of War: Assassin's Gambit: Buy it from Knight Bernahl for 6,500 runes after he relocates to Volcano Manor.
  • Drawing-Room Key: Lady Tanith hands it over when you agree to join Volcano Manor. If Rykard dies first, it is left on her chair.
  • Serpent's Amnion: On the altar in the Temple of Eiglay after you defeat the Godskin Noble.
  • Tonic of Forgetfulness: Lady Tanith gives it after you have handed Rya the Serpent's Amnion.
  • Rykard's Great Rune: Dropped by Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy below Volcano Manor. Restore it at the Divine Tower of West Altus, reached through the Sealed Tunnel.
  • Remembrance of the Blasphemous: Dropped by Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy at the bottom of Volcano Manor. Trade it to Finger Reader Enia in Roundtable Hold for Rykard's Rancor or the Blasphemous Blade.
  • Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [21]: Volcano Manor: hit the illusory wall in a room off the main upstairs hallway and follow the passage beyond.
  • Missionary's Cookbook [6]: Volcano Manor: from the Temple of Eiglay ride the lift up, cross the lava field with the Abductor Virgin, climb in through a window and go down to a small cell.
  • Recusant Finger: On the table with the contract letters in Volcano Manor.
  • Dragon Heart: Defeat the Magma Wyrm inside the Volcano Manor dungeon.
  • Perfume Bottle: Volcano Manor: on a body in the drawing room opened with the Drawing-Room Key.

  • Man-Serpent Ashes: Beyond the lava lake walkway above the Temple of Eiglay, on the altar in a room with two great staircases.
  • Depraved Perfumer Carmaan: Inside Volcano Manor, walk through the illusory painting in the first room to the right, bear left at the snail fork and go through another illusory wall.
  • My Thanks: Once Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy is dead, walk to the far end of Volcano Manor's main corridor to pick it up.
  • Crimson Amber Medallion +1: In the prison town below the Prison Town Church grace, open the Imp Seal Gate before the bridge and climb upstairs to find it.
  • Dagger Talisman: Volcano Manor: past the Man-Serpent walkway near the Temple of Eiglay, take the staircase hall west, drop to a hallway and follow it to stairs leading onto a ledge.
  • Taker's Cameo: Lady Tanith's reward for the third Volcano Manor contract, killing Juno Hoslow. Defeating Rykard before you receive that contract locks it out.
  • Daedicar's Woe: Left on the floor where Rya waited in Volcano Manor once her story is over; rest and come back after her last conversation.
  • Godskin Stitcher: Drop from the Godskin Noble boss in the Temple of Eiglay under Volcano Manor.
  • Magma Blade: Rare drop (about 1%) from the Man-Serpent that wields it; take the lift north of the Temple of Eiglay grace and it is the first one on the walkway outside.
  • Serpentbone Blade: Tanith's reward for finishing the second assassination request in Volcano Manor; the contracts end once Rykard falls.
  • Butchering Knife: Dropped by Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater, who invades in the lower prison halls of Volcano Manor past the Abductor Virgins; it comes with a Sacred affinity.
  • Ghiza's Wheel: Dropped by Inquisitor Ghiza, who invades as you climb the stairs from the Volcano Manor grace.
  • Inquisitor's Girandole: Reward for beating the two Abductor Virgins in the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber below Volcano Manor.
  • Serpent-Hunter: Lies just inside the arena of Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy; grab it before the fight starts, as it is made for this battle.
  • Magma Whip Candlestick: Patches gives it to you at Volcano Manor after you complete the contract on Great Horned Tragoth.
  • Bloodhound Claws: Hit the painting in the first room to the right inside Volcano Manor, follow the hidden hall to a fork and descend the stairs; the Bloodhound Knight down there drops them.
  • Albinauric Staff: From the Prison Town Church grace, cross toward the big bridge, skip the second church and climb the ladder on the right; drop down the far side into a room with a corpse holding it.
  • Gelmir Glintstone Staff: One Man-Serpent Sorcerer, at the top of the stair hall next to the waygate to Rykard, drops it about 8% of the time.
  • Erdtree Seal: In the Prison Town below Volcano Manor, cross the roofs down to the square with the burning pile, then go east up the stairs to a corpse holding it.
  • Man-Serpent's Shield: Man-Serpents carrying it drop it about 2% of the time; farm the north balcony of the building that holds the Guest Hall grace.
  • Smoldering Shield: From the Prison Town Church grace, cross the roofs west to a wooden bridge, exit through the archway, drop down on the right and follow the lava north to the graves with jars.

Walkthrough: Volcano Manor: Joining the Recusants

  • Return to the Erdtree-Gazing Hill grace, find Rya nearby and accept her invitation; she brings you to Volcano Manor.
  • Light the Volcano Manor grace inside the manor's entrance hall.
  • Speak with Lady Tanith and join the manor; she hands you the Drawing-Room Key.
  • Open the doors along the hallway to find Rya, and talk until she repeats.
  • Talk to Knight Bernahl in the manor until he repeats.
  • Pick up the Letter from Volcano Manor off the table in the drawing room.
  • Speak with Diallos, who has also joined, until he loops.
  • Return to Tanith and talk to her again until she repeats.
  • Go upstairs, where Inquisitor Ghiza invades; kill him for Ghiza's Wheel.
  • Return downstairs to rest, then chat with Patches near the exit until his lines loop.

Walkthrough: Volcano Manor: Tanith's Second Contract

  • Back at Volcano Manor, tell Tanith that Istvan is dead and accept the Magma Shot sorcery as payment.
  • Patches now loiters near the entrance hall; hear his pitch and take the Letter to Patches.
  • Look in on Rya in her room and let her talk until she has nothing new to add.
  • Talk to Recusant Bernahl in the large side room until his lines loop.
  • A fresh Letter from Volcano Manor is waiting on the drawing-room table; pick it up.
  • Have a word with Diallos about the manor and his plans until he falls quiet.
  • Seek out the ghostly figure who haunts the manor and hear his story, resting until nightfall if he has not appeared.

Walkthrough: Volcano Manor: Patches' Job and the Temple of Eiglay

  • Warp to the Magma Wyrm Makar grace, then take the red sign in the arena to invade Great Horned Tragoth, the target of the Letter to Patches; he drops the Bull-Goat Set.
  • Back at Volcano Manor, let Patches know his rival is gone.
  • Tanith pays out for Rileigh with the Serpentbone Blade; speak to her to claim it.
  • Rya has moved to a different room; find her there and listen to her.
  • Speak with Bernahl to accept the Letter to Bernahl, a two-target hunt he wants to share with you in Leyndell.
  • Take the Red Letter from the drawing-room table for the final contract.
  • Have another word with Tanith before heading deeper into the manor.
  • Reload and talk to Patches again; this time he rewards you with the Magma Whip Candlestick.
  • Speak to Rya once more now that she has returned to her human form.
  • In Rya's room, the first door on the right down the hall, roll into the back wall and take the hidden stairs to the Prison Town Church grace.
  • Cross the rooftops of the lava town and drop inside to touch the Guest Hall grace.
  • Head down to the lava, climb the stairs and ride the cage lift up, then pull the lever beside the boss gate to raise the bridge shortcut.
  • Go through the fog and defeat the Godskin Noble.
  • Touch the Temple of Eiglay grace past the arena.
  • Something waits on the temple altar now that the Godskin is gone: pocket the Serpent's Amnion.
  • Return to Rya, tell her about the hidden town and give her the Serpent's Amnion.
  • Reload and ask Tanith about Rya; she hands you the Tonic of Forgetfulness.
  • Ride the temple lift up, drop from the balcony to the lava and cross to the room where Rya kneels; talk, but don't kill her or give her the tonic.
  • Climb back out by the ladder, take the left-hand path into the building and go up the stairs to the Imp Statue above the entrance.
  • Spend two Stonesword Keys on the statue. Leave the balcony waygate alone for now, because it leads straight to Rykard.
  • Drop down the hanging cages in the dark room below to loot a Seedbed Curse, the Dagger Talisman and a Somber Smithing Stone [7].
  • Carry on through the room to open the door into the manor's entrance hall beside Patches.

Walkthrough: Volcano Manor: Rykard and Tanith's Feast

  • Return to Volcano Manor and collect Bernahl's thanks for the Leyndell hunt: the Gelmir's Fury sorcery.
  • Talk to Diallos, who is still lingering nearby.
  • Report Juno's death to Tanith and accept the Taker's Cameo.
  • Agree to meet Lord Rykard when Tanith offers; you are sent to the Audience Pathway grace.
  • Defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy; the Serpent-Hunter spear lying at the arena entrance makes the fight far easier.
  • Rest at the new grace in the arena, Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, before leaving.
  • Back in the manor, speak to Tanith about her lord's death.
  • Catch Patches before he leaves the manor and hear his goodbye.
  • Talk to Bernahl and listen to everything he has to say.
  • Visit Rya in her room past the Temple of Eiglay grace and speak to her, still keeping the tonic.
  • Reload and collect Zorayas's Letter and Daedicar's Woe from the place where she sat.
  • Warp to the Shaded Castle Inner Gate grace, ride the lift toward the boss and find Patches on the statue bridge for the Dancer's Castanets.
  • At the Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy grace, talk to Tanith, who is now devouring his corpse.
  • Attack and kill Tanith beside Rykard's remains for the Consort's Set.
  • When her Crucible Knight bodyguard invades, defeat him for Aspect of the Crucible: Breath.
  • Find Patches back in his old Murkwater Cave arena, fight him and spare him once more to learn Patches' Crouch.
